St Matthew's
Church in Morley held its annual garden party event on Saturday
14th June. The fundraiser was staged on the croquet lawn of
Morley Retreat House which is next to the church. Former Erewash
Mayor, Councillor Eileen Knight was on hand to perform the official
opening at 2:00pm. The event was a considerable success with a total
of £1,200 raised for church funds

Pupils at
Morley Primary School are now sporting new tracksuits incorporating the
school logo, courtesy of a locally based house builder. Crest
Nicholson is currently working on a development in the neighbouring
borough in Smalley. The track suits were donated by the firm and
will be worn by members of the school sports teams when attending matches
and competitions.

College
students in Morley are learning how to look after themselves after the
opening of a new £100,000 living unit at the Broomfield College campus.
Around 40 students are enrolled, aged between 16-25, on courses designed
for people with learning difficulties. Kitchen facilities include
those suitable for those using wheelchairs whilst an interactive
whiteboard offers useful cookery information and other guidance. The
courses last for up to two years at a time.
