Where am I : Programmes (Meet The Team) > Presenters > John Morris

Having worked in the Erewash Valley from the mid-60s until the late 90s, as well as living there from the early 80s until the late 90s, I have always felt it is my spiritual home - in fact, I still own a property in the Borough.

The people of this area are so warm and friendly, and the Erewash area offers so much to the folk that live locally - it is rich in character and has a tremendous heritage.

Having started in my "radio career" monitoring the performance of the local commercial station for the then controlling body (the Independent Broadcasting Authority or IBA), I went on to do similar work for the BBC, Century 106 (now Heart), as well as working as a freelance researcher for BBC local radio.  My love of Country Music took me into Hospital Radio in Nottingham, as well as various short-term licence stations in Ripley, Derby, Doncaster, Thorne and not forgetting the English speaking service of Radio Sweden.  I also present programming for Trust AM 1278 - hospital radio for Doncaster and Bassetlaw.
