Where am I : Programmes (Meet The Team) > Producers > 'Gonzo'

Hi - Gonzo here!  I'm responsible for 'discovering' local bands and get their material played on-air on Erewash Sound.  Here's a mission statement for my work with Erewash Sound. 'To see as many local bands, groups, solo artists and raw talent get noticed by record companies or at least recognised across the Erewash area.'

Of course, in doing this I'll be carrying out a lot of research, both over the net and also by visiting pubs and other venues in the borough to find out what's happening on the local scene, but I would also like to ensure this is done so that the people of Erewash know about it, and to get as much support as possible for events that are taking place in the area, and the acts performing in them. 

This type of local entertainment doesn't get promoted enough - and I feel that promoting these acts could well put Erewash firmly back on the map.  Hopefully, via this website, and the on-air service of Erewash Sound, I can get more bands and solo artists involved in the station too.  I feel that this will bring even more people in both to listen to and to support Erewash Sound.  It isn’t just about us - but also about you - the people of Erewash - and this is another way of getting you as involved as much as possible.

As part of my role with Erewash Sound, I'll also be taking the time to go and see acts myself along with friends, to provide honest reports and interview as many as possible too.  I believe it is important to give everyone a fair chance and also just as important to give them a good start in the industry!

'Gonzo'

Crazy by name, crazy by nature, a Scorpio, and single (so ladies beware!) David "Gonzo' Hutchinson has lived in Long Eaton for most of his life.  Classed as a caring, honest and down-to-earth kind of fella, he has a varied social life including meeting plenty of new people, seeing friends, playing computer games, surfing the 'net, drinking, listening to music and playing pool.  Amongst his varied musical influences, Gonzo likes Dance, Garage, Hip-hop, Punk and Trance, but particularly admits to being a Green Day fan. 

You'll probably have the pleasure of meeting Gonzo (and the rest of the Muppets) at a venue near you soon....
